The Wylpena Chardonnay Vineyard lies in the ancient McLaren Flat “Currajong Formation” soils on Bagshaws Road. The fruit is left to ripen to its fullest potential on the vine while adopting subtle sun burn characters.
A bigger broader chewier style of Chardonnay from the past. A red wine drinker’s white. Albeit muscular and lathered with double cream this one does have a considerable balance of aromatics, fruit weight, acidity and mouth feel. Lots of flavour, lots of Malolactic butteriness, lots of French oak. A blast from the past.
